Oconee County Sheriff's Office Seeking Information After Teen Seriously Injured

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking witnesses or information after a seriously injured 19-year old male was found near the intersection of Whippoorwill Road and Cumberland Road. Chief Deputy Lee Weems explains.

“Last night about 12:25[am] we received a 911 call, it came in as a medical call for a 19-year old who had left his house on foot earlier and he returned and he was covered in blood,” according to Weems. “And that’s how the call came in.”

Weems says investigators did find evidence of the incident, including window glass from a vehicle at the scene.

“Just outside the house, at the intersection near Whippoorwill and Cumberland roads, there was glass on the scene, and some other physical evidence. We don’t not know at this time whether this was an accident or if this was an intentional act.”

Weems says say if you know someone who is suddenly missing a car window, the Sheriff’s Office needs to know.

He also asks anyone who owns or works at a repair shop and a vehicle with a missing window to alert the sheriff’s office.

“We would like to be able to let this young man’s family know what happened.”

Contact Investigator Justin Cash at jcash@oconeesheriff.org  or 706-769-3945 with information.

Investigators have not been able to speak with the 19-year old victim due to the severity of his injuries.
