Duke Energy and County Officials to Test Sirens Around Oconee Nuclear Station

Residents in Oconee County hear test sriens aroubnd lunchtime on Wednesday. Duke Energy and Oconee County will conduct a three-minute test of the sirens around Oconee Nuclear Station Wednesday morning.

According to a media release from Duke Energy, the 65 outdoor warning sirens with 10 miles of the facility will be tested at 11:50 a.m.

The test is being performed in cooperation with emergency officials in Oconee and Pickens counties, who are responsible for sounding the sirens.

No public action is needed.
