UGA to Pay Employees During Reduced Operations

grady.uga.edu

More UGA employees will be paid during the reduced operations period. The University System of Georgia has issued Non-Closure Emergency Leave Procedures that give USG presidents the authority to allow Leave with Pay for emergency leave where the campus remains open, but operating at a reduced level.

UGA and all system campuses are open, but have significant reductions in response to COVID-19.

President Jere Morehead has chosen to pay employees their regularly scheduled hours, per week when there is no work for those employees. Eligible employees include regular full-time and regular part-time employees who: are not able to perform their regular duties through telework or other remote and flexible arrangements and those who are not working as essential employees.

Temporary student workers, rehired retirees and other temporary workers are not eligible, but they are encouraged to telework, work remotely, or use flexible work arrangements.
