Thunderstorms Possible for Athens


Athens is under a hazardous weather outlook. According the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are expected in portions of North and Central Georgia tonight.

Forecasters say a cold front is pushing through the area. A few strong to severe storms are possible. The primary hazard will be damaging winds, though hail and an isolated tornado are possible. Between one to two inches of rain is possible.

Athens-Clarke, Barrow, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe counties are included in that hazardous weather outlook.
