Georgia Power Introduces Payment Plan For Customers With Outstanding Balances

Georgia Power

Georgia Power will resume disconnection of services for past-due payments on July 15th. To provide relief for customers affected by the COVID-19 virus, the energy company is introducing a payment plan to help customers address an outstanding balance.

Customers enrolled in the Prepay plan will be able to use a portion of current payments to pay off their outstanding balance over a six month time frame. There will be no late fees as long as the balance is paid before April of 2021. Customers must enroll by July 15th to participate in the plan.

Over the summer months, Georgia Power is also providing relief by reducing fuel rates, a move which was approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission on May 28th. It also partners with other organizations to provide energy for those in need. Programs include Georgia Power's Senior Citizen Discount, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and the Salvation Army's Project SHARE.
