New COVID-19 numbers released by The University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County Wednesday reflect the downward trend of new cases across the state.

UGA reported 47 new positive COVID-19 tests for the week of March 1st through 7th, setting a new record for the lowest number of positive tests reported by the university since surveillance testing began in August.

Athens-Clarke County reported 106 new COVID-19 cases between March 4th and March 10th. That number is down from the previous week.

On Monday, Georgia will expand its vaccine eligibility to include adults 55 and older and individuals with disabilities and certain medical conditions.
