Covid case rates remain high in Athens as the University of Georgia and Clarke County Schools prepare to return to in-person instruction.
From Dec. 26 to Jan. 2, Athens-Clarke County saw 1,178 total Covid cases, with a case rate of 918 per 100,000, a 167% increase from the previous 7 days.
Due to large demand, the county’s West Athens testing site has moved from its location on Atlanta Highway to Holland Park at 250 Vincent Drive.
A county-wide indoor mask mandate remains in effect until the week-long case rate falls below 100.
