Early voting surges in advance of May 24 election

Voter turnout for Georgia’s primary elections is breaking records according to data from the Secretary of State’s office. As of Monday, more than 426,000 voters have cast ballots, with about 99 percent of those casting their votes in-person. That is a 200 percent jump from the 2018 primary and 150 percent over the 2020 primary. About 57 percent of the votes cast were by Republicans. 42 percent by Democrats, and 1 percent were for non-partisan races.
