John Drake is a Distinguished Research Professor in UGA’s Odum School of Ecology. He spoke with WUGA about the disease and says overall, the disease poses no significant need for alarm for most Georgians. And while we should pay attention to the rise in cases of monkeypox, around the nation and globe, Professor Drake says blocking early transmission is crucial.
