Abortion Rights Advocates React with Sadness and Anger to Today's Ruling

mtpr.org

Abortion rights advocates in Georgia are reacting with sadness and anger to today’s Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade while keeping a wary eye on the state's fetal Heartbeat Bill.

The 11th Circuit of Appeals postponed its decision on the constitutionality of the law last year, but will likely be reconsidering the ban now that Roe has been overturned. Lauren Fraizer, Director of Communications and Marketing at Planned Parenthood says that reproductive rights must be taken back through voting.

Melita Easters, the Executive Director and Founding Chair of Georgia WIN List, a PAC focused on electing pro-choice Democratic women for office, echoes Fraizer.
