According to an from the Clarke County School District an ‘Administrative Hold’ placed on Clarke Central High School and Clarke Middle School has been lifted.

Dear CCSD families,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an incident that took place at Clarke Central High School today, which resulted in an administrative hold.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m., Clarke Central administration was made aware of a potential altercation and began an investigation. This investigation prompted a search, during which a weapon was found and the student from whom the weapon was recovered fled on foot. We continue to collaborate with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, and the investigation remains active.
Based on information received during the investigation, Clarke Middle School and Classic City High School were also placed on administrative hold. Once student and staff safety was assured, the administrative hold was lifted for all campuses.
We appreciate the efforts of the CCSD staff members who responded calmly and professionally to this situation and helped ensure the safety of our students and staff.
The Clarke County School District and our security teams take the safety of our students and staff seriously and consider it our highest priority. We continue to encourage students and families to immediately report any threats or concerns to the school administration. Understanding that this type of event can be alarming for students, our school counselors are available to provide any support to your student should they express any concerns about this incident.
