Members of the Clarke County Board of Education meet this evening to finalize the selection of a new school superintendent. Robbie Hooker, former Clarke Central Highschool Principal and sole finalist for the superintendent position, is expected to be appointed as a replacement for the retiring Xernona Thomas.

Hooker has served as Superintendent of Social Circle City Schools since 2019, following his time as principal at Clarke Central from 2008-2016. If granted approval from the Board tonight, he’ll assume the role on October 10.

The session starts at 6pm at the School District Offices on Prince Avenue.
