Art Rosenbaum Dies at 84

Art Rosenbaum, a well known painter, musician, folklorist, and educator, died at the at the age of 84 on Sunday, September 4 after his battle with cancer.

Rosenbaum had an impressive career with countless exhibitions, commissions, and publications. He also molded the young minds of the next generation of artists while teaching at the Lamar Dodd School of Art for 30 years from 1976-2006. Rosenbaum also became UGA's first Wheatley Professor in Fine Arts.

Rosenbaum had a passion for American traditional music as well. He traveled the country for decades to play and preserve blues, ballads, spirituals, and fiddle tunes. One could always look forward to hearing Rosenbaum play at the North Georgia Folk Festival.
