CCSD officials say Cedar Shoals fire was deliberately set

Students at Cedar Shoals High School were sent home to finish the school day online today after a fire in a bathroom triggered the school's sprinkler system. Clarke County School District officials say the fire was deliberately set.

According to a media release from the district, "The fire was extinguished quickly, but not before sprinklers were activated, causing smoke to fill the building."

The district will continue to provide updates via their website and Facebook page, and expect to determine later today if the school can reopen tomorrow.
