Project Safe, National Hotline, Offer Help for Domestic Violence During Holidays

While most of us look forward to holiday celebrations, the stress that often accompanies the holidays can lead to an increase in domestic violence. Joan Prittie is Executive Director at Project Safe in Athens. The nonprofit works to end domestic violence.

Prittie says Project Safe offers a variety of services to people in need of assistance.

You can visit project-safe.org for help or more information. You can also call the hotline at 706-543-3331 or use the Teen Textline 706-765-8019.

In addition, the National Domestic Violence Hotline has tips for safety planning during the holidays. That number is 1-800-799-SAFE, or 7233.
