Delta Air Lines honored the legacy University of Georgia football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley on Tuesday with the dedication of a Boeing 767-400 plane that features a memorial seal honoring the coach.
The ceremony was attended by the Dooley Familiy and Delta CEO Ed Bastian and Delta leaders Tim Mapes and Allison Ausband. Gov. Brian Kemp, Lt. Govenor-Elect Burt Jones, former chairman of Augusta National Golf Club Billy Payne, team captain of the 1980 UGA foobtall team Frank Ros, as well as several delta employees were also in attendance.
At the ceremony, Dooley's son, Daniel Dooley shared memories of his father's career and dedication to the University of Georgia athletic program.
Delta is a supporter of UGA athletics and will carry the football team to their second consecutive College Football Playoff National Championship game in Los Angeles California on Jan. 9.
