The Athens-Clarke Government has announced that several county roads will be closed indefinitely as crews work to replace failed stormwater pipes and culverts under the roads. They include Olympia Drive from Hancock Industrial Way to Athena Drive, Charlie Bolton Road from Smithonia Road to Lem Edwards Drive and Voyles Road from Spring Valley Road to Olympic Drive.
The roads were damaged due to heavy rains and flooding Tuesday, January 3rd. The repairs are expected to take at least several months. Visit www.accgov.com for a list of detours.
