UGA falls to Ole Miss 66-58

The Ole Miss rebels defeated the University of Georgia women’s basketball team 66 – 58 Thursday night in Athens.

The Rebels’ Angel Baker led all scorers with 20 points, while Brittney Smith lead Georgia’s team with 18. Smith also had 10 rebounds on the night, her second double-double of the season and the 10th of her career.

After a mostly even 1st quarter, Ole Miss had a 22-14 advantage by the end of the frame that was closed out by a 7-0 run. Ole Miss eventually had a double-digit lead by the second half (32-22). The Lady Bulldogs' defense rallied, cutting the deficit to six points in the second half.

The Rebels held on to win 66-58.

“We have to get consistent,” Georgia head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said. “Everybody’s got to get consistent.”

Georgia now heads to Knoxville where they will face the Tennessee Volunteers. That game will be Sunday January 15th and will tip off at 1pm. The game will be televised on the SEC network.
