Chief Executive Officer of the Athens Housing Authority, Rick Parker, is stepping down from his position after 34 years of service to the Athens community.
The Board of Directors have selected Connie Staudigner to succeed Parker as CEO beginning mid-February. Staudinger has held executive level positions at Housing Authorities around the country and has led award winning development projects throughout her 25 years career in the public and private housing sectors.
Recent highlights during his tenure include the redevelopment of Jack R. Wells public housing into the Columbia Brookside neighborhood and a partnership with Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and Clarke County School District to transform a local historic gym into the Elizabeth G. King Boys. He will continue to serve as a special projects director for the North Downtown Athens Redevelopment project through June of this year.
