Athens News Matters: UGA program offers help for DFACS staff and troubled families

One of the toughest jobs also has one of the nation’s highest turnover rates - child welfare caseworkers. But, a program at the University of Georgia offers tuition-free master’s degrees in social work to students, including employees at the State’s Department of Family and Child Services. The goal? Give DFACS managers and caseworkers the skills and knowledge to reduce their own burnout and better help troubled families. WUGA’s Allison Salerno has that story.
