Bed bugs at ACC Courthouse

The Athens-Clarke County Courthouse will have limited access through the end of the weekend due to a bed bug infestation that will require a multi-day treatment course.

Superior Court Chief Judge Eric Norris will be signing a judicial emergency order today to cancel jury trials and hearings, suspend many judicial activities and limit Courthouse access to emergency issues, temporary protective orders and filings. Although the bed bugs were only found on three levels, recommended treatment involves closing and treating the entire facility.

The Courthouse has a tentative re-opening date of Monday, February 20. Additional entry measures may be required for employees and visitors once the building is re-opened.
