The Athens-Clarke County government is seeking public input to help develop a strategic plan to reduce and prevent homelessness. In collaboration with consulting firm The Cloudburst Group, the ACC government is asking business owners and college students to weigh in on homelessness in Athens. One survey is aimed at understanding how business owners interact with those experiencing homelessness and the impact the issue has on their business. A second survey seeks input from college students who have previously or are currently living with housing insecurity or homelessness. Responses will be kept confidential. The surveys are open until April 23. The goal is a five-year plan to address homelessness.
Surveys have already been conducted for service providers and those at risk of experiencing homelessness. Residents will also have a chance to provide feedback over the summer.
