United Way Gives $800,000 in Grants in 2022, Applications Open

Community Impact grant applications are open at the United Way of Northeast Georgia. The grants are distributed to programs and agencies within the organization’s 12-county area. Alison Alwes is the director of marketing and engagement at the nonprofit.

She says the organization’s 2022 annual report shows the United Way invested nearly a million dollars, some $985,000, to be exact, across northeast Georgia last year. $800,000 of the $985,000 total went to support thirty programs.

United Way has three main focus areas, early childhood, success, basic needs, and workforce development. The three main categories support specific needs including food, shelter, healthcare services, families with young children and training and education opportunities for young adults entering the workforce.

Grant applications are open through June 1st at 5 pm.
