School Intruders Prompt Lockdown at 3 Barrow County Schools

Three Barrow county schools went on lockdown Thursday morning. According to a release from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, the lockdown was a precaution after three intruders were confronted by law enforcement in Winder-Barrow High School’s gymnasium. The trio of males reportedly ran from the School Resources Officer after he attempted to identify them. The Sheriff’s Office and Winder Police Department responded and the high school, as well as Russell Middle School and Winder Elementary School were locked down.

Video camera footage from the school showed the intruders left the school and fled in a black car.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the barrow County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 770-307-3080, extension 3083.
