September is Hunger Action Month, and the Food bank of Northeast Georgia is encouraging area residents to get involved. Erin Barger is President and CEO of the organization. She says this is a particularly good time for anyone interested in support the food bank to do so thanks to an anonymous donor who is matching contributions us to $25,000 until September 30th.
The Food Bank moves more than 11 million pounds of food through its 14-county service area. Barger says about 64,000 people in the region experience food insecurity.
