The pharmacy at the Athens Neighborhood Health Center is once again open. The facility had been closed since December due to flooding. Jennifer Richardson is Director of Marketing and Outreach at the health center. She says while the main building at the McKinley Drive location remains closed, the giving patients access to the pharmacy and its lower pricing was a priority.
Those prices can be substantially lower, with insulin costing $20 at ANHC versus $200 to $400 elsewhere; or Hepatitis C drugs free at the facility compared to $15,000 at other pharmacies.
The pharmacy is only available to patients of the center, which is expanding.
All appointments are scheduled at the 675 College location until the McKinley Drive facility is reopened.
