Athens-Clarke County Commissioners recently enacted a short term rental moratorium in parts of the city. The measure temporarily addresses concerns. District 2 Commissioner Melissa Link says the issue is not a new one.

The moratorium does not impact all short-term rental options, only new rentals, existing facilities are allowed.

Link says she is most concerned about absentee owners of short-term rentals who she says are not a part of the Athens community. You can more from Commissioner Melissa Link on this week’s edition of Athens News Matters.
