Food Bank Matching Funds Window Closing

The Food bank of Northeast Georgia is reaching out to Athens area residents. President and CEO Erin Barger says donors have a last chance to double their impact with the nonprofit, thanks to a matching $25,000 donation through September 30.

The organization serves multiple counties in the area and distributed 11 million pounds of food last year.

While all donations are welcome, Kelly Klein, Director of Development at the food bank, says that financial contributions can go a long way. The food bank is able to supply three meals for every dollar donated.

According to the food bank, 94% of every dollar donated goes to support programs. For more information, visit foodbanknega.org.
