Georgia pharmacies soon to sell medical marijuana products

Georgia will soon become the first state in the US to allow medical marijuana products to be offered at independent pharmacies.

Patients will only be able to purchase cannabis oil if they present a state-issued low THC oil registry card from a physician. Georgia has an estimated 14,000 registered medical marijuana patients.

Nearly 120 independent pharmacies will soon begin providing the medication from Botanical Science, one of the state’s licensed production companies in the next few weeks, after the Georgia Board of Pharmacy grants approval and completes inspections.

National drug stores like CVS and Walgreens would not be able to sell medical marijuana products.
