Athens Area Diaper Bank on Successful Diaper Awareness Week

The Athens Area Diaper Bank is thanking the community after a successful National Diaper Need Awareness Week last month. Executive Director and Founder Erin Campbell says residents answered the call, and donated nearly 60,000 diapers.
Additionally, the organization received a donation of 86,000 diapers from Kimberly Clark. Campbell says those donations are sorely needed due to the demand for diapers in Athens and elsewhere.

State and local leaders were among those gathering at an open house at the diaper bank. They included First Lady Marty Kemp. Rep. Houston Gaines, and ACC Commissioner Jesse Houle.

The nonprofit serves Clarke, Barrow, Jackson, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties. Donations of diapers are welcome, but financial contributions allow for diaper bank to buy in bulk.
