File Martin Luther King Junior Day of Service in Athens

Local organizations can still apply to host a volunteer site for MLK day 2024.
Area nonprofits, schools, healthcare and other public organizations wanting to host a project site for the 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service have until Sunday, November 12th to apply.

Typical projects include garden workdays, cemetery and litter clean-ups, trail clearing, painting projects, and invasive species removal. Athens joins thousands of cities across the nation marking the observance as “A Day On and Not a Day Off.”
Congress made the MLK Jr. federal holiday an official day of service in 1994.
