The Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission met on Tuesday night in a meeting that saw lawmakers pass a half-million dollars in public safety improvements, as well as a $550,000 appropriation for the Salvation Army to increase its shelter capacity. Meanwhile, members of the public showed up in force both outside and later inside City Hall – some with harsh words for commissioners. Alexia Ridley talked with Commissioner Mike Hamby, who represents District 10.
