UGA's Russell Library to Host Annual Jeannette Rankin Lecture

The Annual Jeanette Rankin Legacy Lecture is taking place Wednesday, March 13th. Dr. Sandra Boham is this year’s guest speaker.

The foundation provides unrestricted scholar grants to women 35 and older who are working toward their first associate or bachelor’s degree. Karen Sterk, CEO of the nonprofit, which she says recently began the National Tribal Scholar Grant program for students attending tribal colleges around the country.

The lecture will be held Wednesday at 3 pm at UGA’s Russell library and is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Visit RankinFoundation.org for more information.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
