Community Career Academy programs pick up industry certification for high school students

Athens Community Career Academy

Two pathways at the Athens Community Career Academy earned industry certification last week. Pathways in the Health & Human Services Academy and STEM Academy received recognition from the Georgia Department of Education and other organizations.

The ACCA’s Healthcare Science Pathway received an award for completing the Industry Certification Standards for Georgia Healthcare Services Education Programs. The Audio and Visual Technology Film Pathway in the STEM Academy received industry certification from the Georgia Department of Education and the New Media Education Foundation of Georgia.

Founded in 2011, the ACCA offers career pathways through five career academies for Clarke County high school students to learn technical skills and receive real world experience. Those five academies include the Business & Law Academy, Future Educators Academy, Health & Human Services Academy, Hospitality Academy and STEM Academy. Each academy offers different pathways that allow Clarke County high school students to learn technical skills, receive real world experience and college credit.
