A man accused of killing nursing student Laken Riley on the University of Georgia campus has been indicted on 10 charges.
Grand jurors say Ibarra intended to rape Riley in their 10-count indictment. Ibarra is charged with malice murder, three counts of felony murder including felony murder aggravated assault with intent to rape, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape, aggravated battery, hindering a 911 call, tampering with evidence, and peeping Tom.
Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez brought in Special Prosecutor Shelia Ross from the Prosecuting Attorney’s Council (PAC) to prosecute the case.
Ibarra is accused of killing Riley in February as she ran near Lake Herrick on the UGA campus. He was arrested hours later and was being held in the Clarke County Jail.
