Roam If You Want To: The B-52’s Kate Pierson to Sell Vintage Airstream Park

Athens music legend turned hotelier Kate Pierson is selling a unique piece of Americana.

For just under half a million dollars, you can purchase Kate’s Lazy Desert, a hotel in the Mojave Desert. The ten-acre property, located near Landers, California, features accommodations in six vintage Airstream trailers.

Each trailer is renovated and decorated by artists and designers including Phillip Mayberry and Scott Walker, the couple whose house provided the setting for The B-52’s iconic “Love Shack” music video.

The property also boasts a conditional-use permit that allows the retreat to continue to be used as a hotel or short term rental–the same as it has been since Kate’s Lazy Desert opened in 2012.
