ACCPD Gang Unit Seizes 6 Firearms from Convicted Felon

A search of an Athens apartment has led to the seizure of several weapons. Members of o the Athens-Clarke County Police Department Gang Unit served a search warrant at an apartment in Rolling Ridge Apartments.

During the search, officers seized six firearms from the home of 38-year-old Demetrius Lumpkin, of Athens. They include four handguns, a pistol grip AR rifle, and semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun. Additionally, high-capacity magazines were also removed. Lumpkin was charged with reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and tampering with evidence.

The search warrant was related to a “Reckless Conduct” incident on May 12th involving a subject firing a weapon in the complex.
