Public Input Sought on Lexington Road Corridor Projects

Athens Residents have until Sunday, August 11, to weigh in on potential improvement projects for the Lexington Road Corridor. Eight million dollars in TSPLOST 2023 funds will be used for possible projects including sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, traffic signals, and more. A public survey is available at www.accgov.com/lexingtonroad. Residents can also sign up for email and text notifications in order to receive information about key future dates and opportunities for additional input.

The Lexington Road corridor segment under consideration for improvement projects runs 3.25 miles between Johnson Road east of Loop 10 and Southeast Clarke Park.

The Mayor and Commission are tentatively scheduled to vote on a final list of project concepts at their September 3, 2024 Regular Session voting meeting.

For more information, contact the Capital Projects Department at 706-613-3025 or visit www.accgov.com/lexingtonroad.
