Casa de Amistad offers GED classes in Spanish for the Latino community of Athens

Athens is known for its educational opportunities. This fall, Casa de Amistad, a nonprofit which serves the Latino community of Athens, will add to this roster by offering GED classes in Spanish.

Susan Carreno is the Executive Director of Casa de Amistad. She sat down with WUGA’s Alexia Ridley to discuss the lineup of GED classes this year, and how her organization works to support the Latino residents of Northeast Georgia. Here’s that conversation.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
