The Office of Emergency Preparedness will test the UGA Alert system next Wednesday, September 4th at 11:10 am. The office recommends community members practice the evacuation steps they would take when notified of a real emergency.
The University of Georgia also invested $7 million this year in security upgrades, including the installation of new lighting and emergency call boxes. In addition, the university implemented the Campus Safety Ambassadors program this fall, which places trained individuals around campus to escort students during evening hours.
