Georgia high school shooting leaves four dead in Barrow County

Law enforcement officers responded to a school shooting at Apalachee High school in Winder, Georgia. According to reports, the incident has left at least four people dead and 30 more were injured at the scene.

Wednesday morning, Barrow County sheriff's deputies were sent to Apalachee High school to respond to a school shooting that took place at 10:23 a.m. A suspect is in custody, but it remains unclear if the student attends the school, according to a release from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.

All school districts went on lockdown when the incident occurred. Special agents from the FBI were present to assist county law enforcement. Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital received two victims from the shooting, and Grady Health System in Atlanta has received one gunshot wound patient, according to CNN. WSB is reporting one gunshot victim has been taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Barrow and another victim is en route to Northeast Medical Center in Gainesville.
