Athenians have two final chances to submit their input for the new Fire Station #5. Currently located at Whit Davis Road, the Athens-Clarke County Government hopes to move the station near Old Lexington Road.

A drop-in public meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3rd at the Hilsman Middle School Media Center from 5:00-7:00 PM. Athens residents can provide feedback for the nine selected sites that county officials say meet certain criteria. In addition, a public-input survey will be available to residents until October 6th.

The fire station’s site selection committee will review public input in October and pick three final sites to present to the mayor and commission for a vote.
