The State Election Board will hear from its Executive Director Tuesday about an investigation into numerous Georgia counties, including Athens-Clarke.
The State Election Board will convene Tuesday morning in Atlanta. The Executive Director of the board, Mike Coan, will present findings from his investigation into multiple Georgia counties. The investigation comes after conservative activists alleged last month that county election boards failed to properly investigate voter registration challenges. Under state law, Georgians can ask county election boards to review the voter registration status of other voters.
Coan was assigned several counties to investigate including Clarke, Cobb, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Bibb, and Dekalb Counties.
At September’s meeting, State Election Board members also decided to invite the election boards under investigation to Tuesday’s meeting to explain their policies.
