Around 4 pm on Tuesday, the ACCPD investigated reports of a deceased individual in an apartment in the 100 Block of Royale Road. At the scene, investigators found a deceased female who had suffered a gunshot wound.
The officers arrested a suspect, Kendall Boone, 27 years old and an Athens resident, at the 300 block of Jennings Mill Parkway.
Boone was charged with a number of counts, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
