On Tuesday, Jesse Houle, who represents the 6th District in Athens-Clarke County, attended their last voting meeting as a commissioner. During that meeting, members of the public showed an outpouring of support for two agenda items that Houle had a hand in crafting—the creation of permanent, protected bike lanes on Prince Avenue and a resolution to declare the county a “safe haven” for LGBTQIA+ people. They sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer for their final interview as commissioner.
