The University of Georgia has admitted a record 9,500 students for early action, as part of its most competitive admissions cycle yet. This year, 30,490 students applied for early action, marking a 14.6% increase from last year. Applicants hailed from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., including 115 Georgia counties.

The number of in-state applications rose by 13%, while out-of-state applications surged by 17%. UGA offered admission to those with exceptional academic records, including a GPA range of 4.17-4.40 and strong standardized test scores.

“The University of Georgia continues to be a top destination for exceptional students, as seen by our record number of applications from Georgia and across the nation,” said UGA President Jere W. Morehead. “Our commitment to academic excellence, innovative programs, and robust student support ensures that UGA remains a place where students come to achieve their highest aspirations.”

In-state students were admitted in late November, while out-of-state decisions were announced on December 6. The regular decision deadline is January 1, with final admissions decisions expected in mid-March.
