People who identify as Latino make up a growing portion of Georgia’s population. However, few sources seek to publish data reflecting the experiences of the state’s Latino community in one place. The Latino Community Fund, a nonprofit based in Atlanta, recently released the first State of the Latino Community in Georgia Report. WUGA’s Alexia Ridley sat down with Gigi Pedraza, Executive Director of the Latino Community Fund, to discuss the report’s surprising findings—and what it recommends.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
