Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will leave the state Friday to visit Georgia National Guardsmen stationed on the Texas border with Mexico.

Governor Kemp’s office announced Friday that he will visit Georgia National Guardsmen and women stationed in Texas. He will be accompanied by Lt. Governor Burt Jones and several other officials. According to a release, the Georgia National Guard Task Force at the US Southern Border is made up of 85 Georgian service members deployed to support the operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Governor Kemp’s office says he plans to thank the National Guardsmen and women for their service during the holidays.
