The Athens Clarke County Police Department is investigating a fatal car crash related to Wednesday’s round of winter weather.
The Athens Clarke County Police Department is investigating the third fatality crash of 2025. The department responded to a single vehicle accident on Wednesday, a little after 4 pm. Kendra Sims, a 33 year old Athens woman, was driving in the area of Danielsville Road and Harve Mathis Road when her vehicle struck a patch of ice, left the roadway, and hit a tree. Sims died of her injuries at the scene after the arrival of medical response.
