Parents in Clarke County have an opportunity to enroll their children in the Clarke County School District through the online pre-k lottery registration for the next school year. Online applications for new students will be made available from February 7 through February 21.
In order to register, students must turn four years old on or before September 1 to be eligible to attend pre-k. Five years old on or before September 1 are eligible to attend kindergarten.
To be able to register parents need to provide the required documents if they wish to enroll their children. Monica Drayton, pre-K Registrar and Data Specialist for CCSD, oversees the pre-K registration process.
“The requirements as far as to register for pre-k each family, you would have to have a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a copy of their social security card, the parent ID, and two proofs of residence,” said Drayton.
“Which can typically be a lease, a mortgage statement, utility bills, we don't accept cell phone bills, but you can use a trash bill also the child's most current immunization or if you go to the doctor's office it's called the 3231,” said Drayton
